Sessions

Day 1
(1.5 hours)

We’ll start by providing an overview of the product management role and then level the playing field with regards to its core fundamentals. Then, we’ll break down the avenues that can eventually lead to landing a role in product management, as well as how to go about them in a strategic way.

Day 2
(1.5 hours)

On day 2 we'll get familiar with the product lifecycle in detail; from feature ideation to delivery. We will get to know the chronological steps in detail, why they make sense, and how to go about approaching them. As part of this, we will articulate the roles and responsibilities of the product function along the way, as well as how it fits into the broader operating cadence of a given company.

Day 3
(1.5 hours)

We will deep dive into the product management tool kit, how to prioritize competing interests, unpack them, and structure a coherent roadmap. We will then talk about planning vs. execution, and how the two can be parallelized to achieve maximum efficiency.

Day 4
(1.5 hours)

We will unpack the anatomy and taxonomy of product management, become familiar with the language used to translate product ideas into engineering deliverables, and walk through best practices for ongoing documentation. We will then demonstrate how this taxonomy can help streamline the structure of a strategic roadmap.

Day 5
(1.5 hours)

We'll be discussing the movements that take place post launch; measuring success, gathering feedback, refining messaging, and performing retrospectives. We will focus on the importance of data driven iterations and share best practices to ensure those are actively taking place.

Day 6
(1.5 hours)

Building previous sessions, we will walk through a real-life example of a feature we'll be building together. We will put it through the end to end process, have an interactive Q&A throughout it, and clearly demonstrate how the product management function actively orchestrates this journey. Finally, we will tie this back to your individual story and craft a tailored approach for you to land your dream role in product.
